About Coach Kyle

Head Coach Kyle Wilson was a veteran of 11 years of USA Swimming coaching when he tragically passed away as a result of a congenital heart defect called bicuspid aortic valve at the age of 36.  He was an American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA), Level 3 certified coach.  Coach Kyle's belief in pursuing excellence through a balanced approach, teaching swimming technique and then building training around a solid technique foundation was incredibly effective with every team he coached.  Coach Kyle drew his coaching philosophy from his12-year competitive swimming background as a club-swimmer at the Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC) in Maryland and his experience as an Auburn University varsity swimmer (1989-1993).   Coach Kyle served the community as the Head Coach of the Albemarle High School Swim Team and the Head Coach of the ACAC Dolphins Swim Team in the Jefferson Swim League.  He also was the founding coach of the Central Virginia Aquatics (CVA) club team.  An avid outdoorsman, Coach Kyle spent his spare time hunting and fishing, as well as studying Aikido and reading.   Coach Kyle is missed by his swimming family, and by his sisters, Kathy and Karla, and his brother, Kevin.
